No, I'm not starting the middle school rhyme.
I always hate the first time back to running. Once I get started and into my groove, I'm good. I can run and push myself and its awesome. But it's that first time back to running, it sucks.
Today was that first time back. After work, when it was like a bazillion degrees, I just did it. Put all the excuses aside. And I just ran. I hate the feeling of knowing I can do better, but not being able to. It was tough, but I'm glad that first, shitty, terrible, no good, very bad run is out of my system.
Now I just need to keep it up so that there is no longer a "first run."

No Wedding Planning Weekend
Well, we didn't plan on taking a break from wedding planning. It just kind of happened.
Friday night after dinner, Ben and I headed down to Restaurant Row and popped into a bar to listen to some live music. Very chill and low-key but fun nevertheless. We came home, threw on a movie and went to bed.
Saturday, we wake up, and notice that the carpet in front of our couch is wet. Long story short, our air conditional drain was clogged, and the water overflowed out of the air conditioner and was creating puddles under our carpet. We called building maintenance, who ripped up our carpet and put fans everywhere. While things dry out, we went and did some domestic things. At night, Val and Justin came over for some cocktails and well wishes.
Sunday, I slept till (how embarrassing) noon. At noon Ben finally got me out of Bed so we could help Val and Justin move out of their apartment. After packing up the trailer, Ben and I drove back to shower. On our way into our apartment Ben suggested we take the doors off the Jeep. It was a beautiful day, so I said why not.
We showered and hopped back into the car to go to Rustico's with Val and Justin. About two minutes after we get into the car, it begins to downpour. I'm not talking about a bit of rain here. I'm talking monsoon. And we have no windows. Or doors.
Well I walked into Rustico's looking like a wet dog. I went to the bathroom and literally held my skirt under the automatic hand dryer in hopes that it would dry it a bit. No dice. I sat there and ate my fantastic Rustico's pizza soaking wet.

Weekend Wedding Planning Success
What a weekend.
Friday after work Benjamin and I made dinner and watched Pirate Radio. It was a pretty good movie. I mean, I stayed awake so that means something.
Saturday, we woke up fairly early and got right to wedding planning.
Saturday night we went to Rustico's, our go-to restaurant out here in NoVa, with a friend of Ben's from work. Every time we have gone for the past 3 years, Ben's ordered the duck confit pizza. Guess what's no longer on the menu? We substituted it with a bbq pork pizza, but it just wasn't the same. I hope they bring it back, or I see less Rustico's trips in our future.
Today, Ben got up early to play golf while I did some more wedding planning. The wedding invite list has been finalized my friends. This is probably the most difficult decision I've had to make with the wedding. I would love everyone and their mother to be there, but alas that is not practical or realistic.
Not going to lie. I got really excited typing "Mr. and Mrs. Robert Potert" and "Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mayotte" - since both Jess and Lindsay will be sporting hot new last names by the time my wedding comes around. (Spoiler alert: Jess and Lindsay both made the wedding invite list.)
This evening was capped off with a FANTASTIC fresh mozza, pesto, and chicken baked thingamajigger (not gonna lie - it was awesome) and a trip to the Dairy Godmother.
Now i'm blogging and enjoying a nice glass of rose. Ben's playing a video game on the PS3. Next up: wedding invites and finish the wedding website.

- Save the dates: finalized (sorta. may be an issue with the resolution of the photo we want).
- Photog list: narrowed from waaay to many to like 7. Good news is 5 of them aren't booked.

I've been bad
It's been a crazy couple of weeks. Work has been super busy, and on top of that:
- The weekend of June 26 I headed home for Angie's engagement party. It was great to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a while and spend some quality time with Angie and her fiance.
- For July 4th, Ben and I traveled up to NYC for Angelique's birthday. We got to see Stan and Kristin which made us very happy :-). Ange's birthday celebration was at a Russian restaurant in Brighton Beach. The food was awesome, the alcohol was plentiful, and there was even an awesome show. We had a blast. And Benjamin ate a lot of Pinkberry.
What a great photo
- This past weekend my parents were in town. They haven't seen our apartment since we moved in (they saw it once empty 2 weeks before we moved in). We hung around a lot and went to the Nat's game Saturday night.
